Not In The Plans...
Dear Carter,
In May, I wrote you a letter about your paci. Remember? We talked about you growing up and getting to be such a big kid. I said that we would keep your paci for times when you were getting ready for nap or bedtime - remember that? Then, when you got even bigger, you would realize that you didn't even need it at bedtime! Hugs and kisses from Daddy, Rylee and me would be enough for you... is this ringing any bells for you? So, we had a plan of sorts. Don't you think? Do you remember agreeing to the plan?
This, our little Buckaroo, was not part of the plan.
Love,
Mommy
We Will Miss...
Seeing leaves on the ground today during our visit to the park reminded me that the seasons are changing. (I know, I'm so quick to pick up on things.)
Though we'll have a different kind of fun this fall and winter, we will miss...
Blowing bubbles
Wearing goofy goggles, which completely hinder our ability to see,
and playing at the pool.
Splashing daddy's face
and laughing great big belly laughs at his silliness.
Wading in the pool
and watering the cement.
Attending Hot Air Balloon Festivals
and picking out our favorite balloons in the sky.
Camping in the backyard with Daddy
and chillin' in the hammock.
Giving lots of kisses
and laughing when Daddy's whiskers tickle our cheek.
Roasting marshmallows with friends over the campfire
and attempting to eat them, despite their ENORMOUS size.
Making new friends at the water park
and seeing if we can make them grow by watering them.
Riding for the first time on a "big kid" bike with training wheels
and smiling, knowing that because we can't pedal yet, Dad and Mom have to do all the work.
Pedaling for the first time on a "big kid" bike with training wheels, (way to go Rylee!)
and eating lots of lunches and snacks outside.
Playing in our water table
Pouring water into cups and buckets in the swimming pool
and drinking out of each others' cups of water.
Sharing precious hugs with siblings
and then splashing them with lots of water.
Playing and laughing in the pool
and pretending to be frogs that "ribbit" loudly.
Drying off in the summer sun, getting dressed,
and deciding you weren't done playing in the pool.
and talking to Dad through the megaphone thingy. (I'm sure that's what it's called.)
Eating ice cream
and munching on popcorn.
Watching Dad & Carter enjoy an amusement park ride,
waving at them,
and deciding to join them.
Hanging out with best friends,
laughing hysterically while racing on slick tracks,
Trying to catch birds
and then deciding that playing in their bird food was easier and more fun.
Hanging out on Daddy's shoulders
and watching elephants... well, just stand there.
Eating (more) ice cream
and smiling with happiness because you lasted through the entire zoo without falling asleep and your brother didn't.
We had an amazing, super-fun, incredible....
and exhausting summer!
